Hillary Kent is a luxury interior design studio rooted in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, with offices in Mexico City and Miami. Founded by FIT-trained designer Hillary Kent, the studio crafts immersive spaces for boutique hotels, wellness spas, private residences and resort developments across México and the United States. Every project draws on a deep network of Mexican artisans and custom furniture makers — sourced through MERCANTIL, the studio’s bespoke procurement arm. From the Ritz-Carlton Reserve Zadún to intimate Baja hilltop retreats, Hillary Kent blends local craftsmanship with refined global sensibility to deliver interiors that feel both timeless and rooted in place.
The studio works across three disciplines and one sourcing arm. Hospitality interior design for hotels, resorts, beach clubs and restaurants. Spa and wellness design built from natural materials — hand-finished plaster, stone and woven textiles. Luxury residential design for villas, beach houses and condos across Baja and beyond. And sourcing through MERCANTIL, where custom furniture and one-of-a-kind objects are made by Mexican artisans and delivered install-ready.
Baja California Sur sets the palette: terracotta, volcanic stone, woven fiber and the changing light of the Pacific coast. From Todos Santos the studio serves Los Cabos, Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, with offices in Mexico City and Miami for meetings north and south. Most residential clients build in Baja while living in the United States or Canada; the studio manages design, production and installation on the ground, in English and Spanish.
Founded by Hillary in 2021, MERCANTIL designs and produces custom furniture, lighting and textiles with México’s finest workshops — no catalog shortcuts. Shorter supply chains, honest materials, and pieces guests and homeowners can’t find anywhere else, produced to hospitality durability standards.
Every project begins with place — the land, the light, the client’s story. From there: concept and space planning, materials and FF&E documentation, custom production with artisan workshops, then white-glove installation and styling. One accountable team, from first sketch to final walk-through.
